Lateral Thoughts on Life.

Tit for Tat.

I believe in Karma. Tit for Tat. Quid Pro Quo. I believe that what you give to  the world will come back to you. There’s a catch though, Karma can be a bitch and she will pay you back with serious interest. If you send out bad vibes Karma can kill you. The good side is that when you send out good vibes she responds in kind with interest also.

I think it’s the real lesson taught by the Hindu Goddess Laxmi who is generally depicted with a stream of coins ever flowing from her hands. I learnt about Laxmi (usually spelt Lakshmi) when I studied about the life of Russell Simmons. He realized, from her, that his wealth was really derived not from Selfishness but from Giving.

Laksmi with her endless stream of coins.

Laksmi with her endless stream of coins.

So perhaps you want to be rich,  you desire unlimited affluence ? It’s simple really just Give More. If you find that generosity is hard then I guarantee you’ll find it hard to break through to higher levels of Wealth.

How can I speak of riches when I am poor you say ? Because I am rich in certain ways. So are you. We all are blessed with our own talents and see things from a pricelessly unique perspective. We are all Richly blessed.

I am rich in knowledge. I have knowledge of profound and also mundane things, knowledge of the important, the inevitable and the futile. My knowledge is vast, but, when I look deeply at it, I actually give away alot of the knowledge that many others would try to hoard. Thanks to the laws of Karma the result is that more knowledge keeps pouring back to me. It always will if I always give it unto others.

So if you desire affluence, why not realize that the word itself speaks of a fluency, a flow, a stream, currents lead to currency in your pocket, an endless movement, not stagnation, not hoarding.

Prime the pump and keep it flowing by spending money and giving materially to others.

It’s like throwing out an old piece of furniture to replace it with a newer model. You must give away something of tremendous value but know that it will be replaced by something Priceless.

  1. And it’s not just Hinduism that teaches this kinda thing.. it’s ALL the major religions in the world. They just don’t call it karma. The Christian ‘seed you sow you reap’ concept readily comes to mind.

And while I’m not too sure about Islam, their laws commanding punishment for wrong-doers, etc reveals some amount of ‘karmic retribution’…

What goes around comes around… It’s just a law of the universe.

  2. You’re Exactly Right, Ruthibelle. The Laws, if anyone could actually categorize them all, would actually transcend any one religion.

The Law of Attraction for instance is very popular now.
